Extraction News
USEPA & MAP
USEPA
The US Environmental Protection Agency recently approved microwave extraction methodology for extraction of PCBs and PAHs in soils and sediments. The tremendous reduction in solvent usage associated with the use of this methodology is leading to its rapid and widespread adoption.

MAP
The government of Canada has granted a license to CEM Corporation allowing MARS users to perform microwave-assisted processes (MAP™) for extraction. The MAP technology and trademark are the property of the Canadian government. CEM is the only licensed manufacturer of technology for the process.

GSA ADVANTAGE
MARS - Solvent Extraction
Superior Performance and Reliable Results Fast!
Experience the fast, efficient and safe advantages of microwave-based solvent extraction with the MARS System for Extraction.

Increase your laboratory's productivity with our fast, cost-effective alternative to conventional methods that is safe for the operator and the environment.

Shorter extraction times
Reduced solvent consumption –Reduce solvent usage by 90%!
The MARS helps your laboratory practice green chemistry and reduce its solvent usage. Perform over 500 microwave extractions using the same amount of solvent you would normally use for only 32 Soxhlet extractions. Methods that involve nonpolar solvents may be used without any additional solvents, as CEM's Carboflon® stir bars allow you to perform extractions without any change to your current solvent scheme.

CEM offers two configurations of the MARS Microwave Reactions System for extraction.
