CEM Academic Funding Initiatives Commitment to Learning
Because we are a company driven by scientists, we are very aware of the challenges involved in pursuing excellence in science. That's why we are so supportive of educational initiatives and academic research. CEM currently sponsors a grant program, an award for college and university students, and a scholarship for high school seniors.

CEM Chemistry Grant Programs
CEM has always supported education in the sciences and is pleased to offer two research funding initiatives. Microwave-Enhanced Chemistry Grant (download form)The Microwave-Enhanced Chemistry Grant Program is directed toward encouraging the full exploration of microwave technology for use in chemistry applications. This grant provides professors active inresearch and/or teaching that wish to include microwave-enhanced chemistry as a part of their program annual awards at the levels of up to $4,000 for new research instrumentation, up to $2,000 for teaching lab instrumentation and $1,500 for upgrading current CEM instrumentation. M.J. Collins Award

$10,000 for Innovative Science Using Microwave TechnologyCEM Corporation is now accepting nominations for the 2010 MJ Collins Award for Innovative Science Using Microwave Technology. This award recognizes scientific research by a student utilizing microwave technology and is open to undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral students attending academic institutions in the United States and Canada. Established in memory of Stacey Palasek, a research chemist with CEM Corporation, this $5,000 scholarship is offered annually to a deserving female high school senior from Mecklenburg or Union counties, who plans to major in the sciences.
