CEM’s Microwave Peptide
Synthesizer Allows Mimotopes to Successfully
Synthesize Difficult 52mer Peptide
Synthesis Not Previously Possible Under Conventional Conditions
“Phylogica gave multiple peptide
companies a ‘shot at the title’ yet
we all failed using conventional synthesizers. I’m
pleased to say that with our CEM Liberty,
we are successfully delivering long and
difficult sequences to our customers”

Australian biotechnology company Mimotopes, a wholly owned subsidiary of PharmAust (ASX:PAA), in a collaboration with Phylogica (ASX:PYC), has successfully utilized the CEM LibertyT Microwave Peptide Synthesizer to synthesize a long and difficult peptide sequence, derived from bacterial genomic sequences. Using the Liberty, Mimotopes was able to obtain a crude purity of ~ 65% with a total synthesis time of 48 hours. Previous attempts using conventional technology yielded < 5% crude purity with a significantly longer synthesis time. |
