Technology: CEM is unique for a peptide provider in that we are a 30 year old company with in-house engineering capability consisting of over 25 engineers (mechanical, electrical, software, chemical, materials, and microwave) that allow for the design and implementation of instrumentation and automation in our process. We have designed a commercially available peptide synthesizer, the Liberty, as well as specialty in-house accessories and software to enhance our synthesis capabilities. We are also in the process of developing additional synthesizers for in-house use to further expand our synthesis capabilities.

Microwave Synthesizer: The core of our lab is our bank of microwave peptide synthesizers. The advantage of microwave synthesis over conventional synthesis is quite well documented at this point, and as the inventor of the first and only automated microwave peptide synthesizer, we have a unique advantage over all other labs.

People:Our real advantage is the group of creative chemists we have working in the lab (the same group that invented the microwave peptide synthesizer).  A high level group of mostly PhD chemists with extensive microwave experience, and that allows us to try new things on a daily basis.  We start with the advantage of microwave, add to that our proprietary in house microwave methods, top that off with our constant drive to try new things, which allows us to access in good purity peptides that are otherwise inaccessible.
